Monochrome + Lith
The Reasons Why
I have always been fascinated by the extraordinary look of the Lith process. Originally a darkroom process, where prints are made with a special Developer on Lithable papers. Unless you are extremely skilled an exact copy of a darkroom Lith print is fraught with complications.
In 2007 I made my first faux digital Lith picture after studying the required characteristics. The look is a warm tone in the highlights without grain and a cool tone in the shadow and mid tones with grain. The greatest accuracy of look comes through the use of Lightroom as a starting point, Photoshop and Silver Efex Pro 2 to add and mask the film grain and then back into Lightroom to do the Split-toning.
