Monochrome
The Reasons Why
My heritage as a black and white photographer began in the 1980s with a newly built darkroom. In the gloom of the red safelight, I taught myself how to make prints to exhibition quality.
Consequently, in effect, all I am doing now in Adobe Lightroom is the same process I did with an Enlarger and Developer – to increase contrast and make the main subject matter dominant. The digital revolution has brought us much more control of the post-processing workflow. However, that does not mean for me, my pictures have to look digitally produced.
