1 – What will I learn?
The focus of the Mono Take Select Edit Masterclass in Wensleydale is to take already advanced black and white photographers and help them to produce individual creative work. The masterclass is very much based on thinking skills, your photographic influences and the finer points of the art form.
The aim of a digital monochrome masterclass is to inspire and inform participants. The benefits of the masterclass for you are a better understanding of what you want to say photographically and how to tell it effectively.

We will be staying at Cocketts Hotel and Restaurant situated in the centre of Hawes in the upper Wensleydale area of the Yorkshire Dales. The cost of your room and breakfast are included in the masterclass price. Lunch and evening meals are excluded

1 Picture Taking Sessions
We have the whole of the North Yorkshire Moors and beyond to choose from as our picture taking locations. Before heading out the ABC of CameraWork tutorial will help you make relevant and significant decisions as you go through the picture taking and making process. There is a wide variety of subject matter in the area and we will not restrict ourselves to the landscape. Throughout each shooting day, we will regularly review the progress of each participant’s pictures based on the ABC of CameraWork.

2 The Picture Selection Tutorial
The next tutorial will focus on the reasons to select or not select a picture for post-processing. What are the must haves, nice to haves and must not haves before proceeding?
3 The Mono Picture Editing Workflow
Mono workflows will be demonstrated in both Photoshop and Lightroom based on The Dark Art – A Black and White Digital Printing Manual by Andy Beel. Here is your opportunity to learn the personal settings of a well-respected mono photographer and printer. Discover how to get the look taste and smell of a darkroom print from your inkjet printer.
