Wide-angle Workshop at St Fagans

The location for last week’s wide-angle workshop had to be quickly amended as The Big Pit Museum was closed for the day we planned to go. The chosen new location was the St Fagans Museum just the west of Cardiff.

The feature shot above deals with the idea of negative space. The large area of empty dark grey pushes the eye towards to the light tone of the seat and the girl.

The shot below is unusual for me, the leading diagonal is coming from the right instead of the left corner. If the door had not been painted a light tone the work would not have worked for me.

The shot on the right also at St Fagan’s is a composition of a frame within a frame.

Below – workshop participants reviewing a potential success.
