An Icelandic Trip – The Highlands and South Coast
I have just returned from a 12 day trip in the south of Iceland as those of you who follow me on Instagram will know. The trip included the spectacular Icelandic Highlands where a 4×4 vehicle is necessary to cross the lava fields and rivers. Posts feature the Highlands will appear as time goes by.
When the torrential rain stopped, the autumn colours in the Highlands were fantastic, the reds, greens and yellows were almost fluorescent. Until you have seen the volcanic landscape in its autumn colour you cannot imagine what it is like. I had not been to the Highlands before and was not prepared for the intensely saturated colours.
The picture above is a straight out of the camera rendition of the feature picture. An overview of the post-processing in Lightroom CC – Fuji Velvia / Vivid Profile, a minute increase in contrast, reduced exposure to the sky, Clarity selectively added to the foreground and taken away from the background, a minor increase in the luminosity of the greens and yellows.
Next Week
Next week I am presenting a lecture tour in Cambridgeshire at the following photographic societies

Tuesday 3rd – Bottisham and Burwell,
Wednesday 4th – Ware & District PS

The talks will be a combination of A2 mounted mono prints, post-processings demonstrations and digital images.
